Abstract
This collection consists of monthly reports of the trustees of the Society for the Employment of the Female Poor, Boston, Mass., 1827-1834.
Historical Sketch
The Society for the Employment of the Female Poor was an organization, run by women, that employed poor women in Boston, Mass. through its operation of a house which provided washing, ironing, and sewing services by order and created garments for sale. The house also had a schoolroom.
Collection Description
This collection consists of monthly reports of the trustees of the Society for the Employment of the Female Poor, kept from Dec. 1827-Apr. 1834. The reports contain financial statements and narrative descriptions of the society's activities.
